Overview

The Central Park for Culture and Recreation is Kharkiv’s most popular amusement park, which locals still habitually call ‘Gorky Park’. Its landmark is the large ‘Panorama’ Ferris wheel, over 55 metres tall, with sweeping views over the city. The park has fairground rides, alleys, bike hire and even its own aerial cableway linking the recreation areas.

The park is not directly above a metro station, so reaching it needs a short walk. The nearest station is Naukova on the Oleksiivska (green) Line: from there it is about a 12–15 minute walk up Sumska Street, or one stop on tram 6. Because of the war some rides may run on a reduced schedule, so it is worth checking before you go.
